Dear Educator,
This is just a message to check up on you and ask how you are coping in these unprecedented and uncertain times- sending virtual hugs to you!! It has become increasingly clear that schooling and education as we know it is taking a total diversion and we need to all learn to be as adaptable as possible.
Ensuring your safety and continued learning experience is our priority at SRC, so i would like to share a few measures we are taking in light of the present situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.
TRAINING PROGRAMS
Our scheduled free Montessori taster and upper weekend’s teacher training have been postponed till a later date. We are available and will likely offer some training sessions online in the next few weeks- do keep updated on our social media pages, or feel free to contact me with any specific training need your school may have. The SRC shop is open on appointment only from next week, so do feel free to call: +2348181081412 to request resources.
GREAT NEWS FOR EARLY YEARS CENTERS (UK ACCREDITATION PARTNERSHIP WITH NDNA)
For schools running Early years centers, we have been working on a partnership with Spark Early years and the NDNA (www.ndna.org.uk) in the UK to give you the opportunity to partake in the Quality Counts Accreditation scheme. It involves a detailed international inspection process for your schools where a team from the UK will eventually visit your schools after you have registered and met specific criteria. To get more registration info and indicate your interest, do send your school name and other details to:
Catherine Lyon, [email protected] by or before March 31st.
ASNE 2020
Preparations and active planning is ongoing for our 10th Annual School Needs Expo scheduled to take place in May 25-30th. We are positioning ourselves, keeping updated on government directives and verified health status reports to be able to take a final decision on the event status in the next month.
TIPS AND COPING STRATEGIES
The raging Corona Virus mainly affects the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions such as heart conditions, diabetes, etc So for the rest of us, it is important to keep your immune system strong
- Use the time to unwind, relax and catch up on that book 📚 or online course you may have been postponing
- Feed your mind with positive sources, try to dwell less on the myriad of negative posts being shared daily
- Eat healthy and stock up what’s needed (here in the UK, stores are actually limited on stock and no delivery 🚚 slots available for groceries for the next few weeks!)
- Wash your hands often and extensively
- Check up on loved ones, 👬 friends and colleagues in your community and abroad
- Find time to exercise
- Remember the social distancing rule
Prepare holiday activity packs for your students
Keep parents well updated and communicate developments to avoid speculations
Stay calm, breed peace around you
Work with your staff team, get a coach to support you, be understanding with your staff team too.
Once again, do remember that we are available to support your schools whether physically or virtually with resources, contacts from our business network and online trainings (especially to the inner circle in my personal coaching groups.)
Do stay safe, keep well- informed and we look forward to seeing us all once the battle over COVID-19 is won soon and we can get back to work in full swing!
Educationally yours,
